Jennifer Berton, PhD, LCSW, CADC-II obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Skidmore College, and her Masters and Doctorate in Social Work from University of California at Berkeley. She has been a credentialed addiction counselor since 1997 and is a licensed independent clinical social worker in the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Dr. Berton founded The Rose Center for Learning in 2016, combining her clinical practice, supervision practice, and training company into one home. Dr. Berton provides counseling to individuals, couples and families, supervision and consultation to professionals and groups across the country, and trainings or workshops on various topics of mental wellness to helping professionals and community groups. The mission of this company is to provide counseling and training that will reduce stigma around mental wellness, until mental counseling is as accepted and expected as physical fitness and nutrition. Dr. Berton is the author of Ethics for Addiction Professionals (2014). She has published numerous articles and blogs.
Dr. Berton was the Ethics Committee Chair while serving on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors (CAADAC). While Chair, Dr. Berton revamped the committee and redesigned the system of processing ethical complaints.
